What it is

Why alerts are at the heart of monitoring

Monitoring without alerts is like a fire alarm without a siren. You have the data, but no one is watching it in real time. The point of automatic monitoring is precisely to free you from manual surveillance - and therefore to be notified when something happens.

Slack and Discord have become the communication hubs for tech teams, agencies and freelancers. Receiving an alert directly where your team works allows for an immediate reaction, without having to check an additional tool.

A regression detected and fixed quickly has little impact on traffic and SEO. The same regression undetected for three weeks can dig a hole in your rankings.

Why it matters

What alerts help you avoid

Post-deployment regressions

A deployment that degrades performance without the team noticing is the most common scenario. An alert on the same day allows you to fix it before Google detects it.

Third-party script failures

A chat script, a Google font or an advertising pixel that slows down or crashes can degrade your scores without any change on your part. Alerts flag these external regressions.

Slow and progressive degradation

Without alerts, a degradation of 5 points per month goes unnoticed until the day the site is at 40/100. Threshold alerts allow you to react before reaching the critical zone.

SEO errors introduced by an update

A plugin or theme update can introduce missing tags or broken redirects. A crawl alert signals it immediately.

How to configure alerts in Trakup

Configuration is done from each site's settings. You paste the URL of your Slack or Discord webhook and define the conditions that trigger an alert.

At each scan, Trakup compares results to the previous scan. If a metric exceeds the configured threshold, a notification is sent to the channel of your choice with the details of the regression.

Configuration via Slack or Discord webhook
